Store water overnight in copper. Drink it in the morning. This is not new advice.

Ayurveda has recommended storing water in copper vessels for centuries. The practice is called tamra jal. Water stored in a copper vessel for 6 to 8 hours absorbs copper ions. These ions have natural antimicrobial properties. They reduce harmful bacteria in the water without any chemical process. Modern research has confirmed this. A 2012 study published in the Journal of Health, Population and Nutrition found that copper vessels significantly reduced bacterial contamination in drinking water. The Flamorra Copper Water Dispenser is built for this practice. Store water in it overnight. Dispense in the morning. The tap makes it practical for daily household use.

Pure copper. Hand hammered. No two are the same.

The Flamorra Copper Water Dispenser is made from pure copper sheet, shaped by hand using a hammer. The exterior surface carries the marks of this process. Every dent and ridge is where the copper was worked. No machine produces this surface. Because each dispenser is shaped individually, no two pieces from the same batch are identical in their surface texture. The diameter and capacity are consistent. The pattern of hammer marks is not. When you run your hand across the exterior of this dispenser, you are feeling copper that was shaped by a craftsman's hand, not stamped out of a mould.

It will tarnish. Here is what to do.

Copper reacts with oxygen and moisture in the air. The exterior darkens over time. This is called tarnishing and it is a natural property of copper, not a defect in the product. The dispenser works exactly the same when tarnished as it does when new. The antimicrobial properties of the copper are not affected by the exterior colour. To restore the original copper colour, scrub the exterior with a mix of lemon juice and salt. Leave for two minutes. Rinse with water. Dry immediately. The copper returns to its original warm reddish colour. Do this as often as you want to maintain the appearance. Or leave the patina. Both are correct choices.

Three sizes. One for every household.

The 3 litre dispenser is right for a couple or a small family that refills daily. The 5 litre works for a family of four with one fill every day or two. The 10 litre is for larger households or for offices where multiple people drink from the same dispenser through the day. The right size is the one you fill completely each time. A dispenser that sits half-full for days is not giving the water the 6 to 8 hours of full copper contact it needs. Fill it fully, let it sit overnight, and dispense through the following day. That is the cycle this vessel is built for.
